Date Range Search, searching for indexex/non-indexed Hymnals

You are here

I have figured out that the publication date field DOES support a range, such as this query:

 publicationDate:1800-1839 hymnalLanguages:English in:hymnals

I am mentioning that here because it wasn't mentioned in the search tips, and I couldn't find it in the forums.  I hope it helps anyone else doing research on historical hymns.

Using that, I am building a list "my hymnals" to restrict searches to.  Unfortunately, most of the titles in this age range give me this message when I look at the hymnal page:

Hymnary.org doesn't have index information for this hymnal, but you can view the page scans.

Does anyone know if there is a field on the hymnals table that indicates "this hymnal has an index"?  I would love to be able to restrict my search to those so I can start with the hymnals that do have an index.

There is not an easy way to restrict a search to hymnals that have an index. You would need to check each hymnal and not add these to My Hymnals, or the link you included is a hymnal without instances, so you could select Instances as your result type.
