When sin departs before his grace, then life and health come in its place; heaven and earth with joy may sing, all for to see the newborn King. 4 All out of darkness we have light, which made the angels sing this night. Judge me not, I pray; no merit dare I claim; knowing my own faults, I trust in your just Name. 2 Hounded by a foe who crushed me to the ground, I am like the dead or those in prison bound. Hopeless, numbed by fear, I ponder all your care; thirsty as parched earth, I lift my hands in prayer. 3 Answer soon, O God, my spirit faints in me; do not hide your face, or I will cease to be. When the morning dawns, make known your love anew; show me how to walk, for I will trust in you. 4 Keep me safe, O God, and help me learn your will; let your Spirit lead through level pathways still. Father, We Have Heard You Calling

Author: Gareth Hill Hymnal: Worship and Song #3150 (2011) Meter: 8.7.8.7 D Topics: Freedom and Liberation; Freedom and Liberation Lyrics: 1 Father, we have heard you calling to your church in every age; for a sign of true devotion for a sacrifice of praise. In this place where you have brought us, may we always seek to be one in love and one in worship – children of eternity. 2 Jesus Christ, our faith's perfecter, priest and advocate above. We would reach our broken nation with the truth of your great love. So transform our feeble witness, may we always live to be one in love and one in worship – children of eternity. 3 Holy Spirit, fire of heaven, fall upon us here today. Bring release, bring tears, bring passion, then transform your church, we pray. As you pour your grace upon us, may we always thirst to be one in love and one in worship – children of eternity. 4 Praise we bring to God the Father, praise we bring to God the Son, praise to God the Holy Spirit, praise to you, the three in one. Trinity of love inspire us, may we always strive to be one in love and one in worship – children of eternity. Scripture: Hebrews 12:1-2 Languages: English Tune Title: HYFRYDOL

The church of Christ, in every age

Author: Fred Pratt Green, 1903- Hymnal: The Book of Praise #486 (1997) Topics: Freedom / Liberation Lyrics: 1 The church of Christ in every age, beset by change but Spirit-led, must claim and test its heritage and keep on rising from the dead. 2 Across the world, across the street, the victims of injustice cry for shelter and for bread to eat, and never live until they die. 3 Then let the servant church arise, a caring church that longs to be a partner in Christ's sacrifice, and clothed in Christ's humanity. 4 For he alone, whose blood was shed, can cure the fever in our blood, and teach us how to share our bread and feed the starving multitude. 5 We have no mission but to serve in full obedience to our Lord, to care for all, without reserve, and spread his liberating Word. A Blood Red Rose Reminds Us Still

Author: Daniel Charles Damon Hymnal: New Hymns of Hope #2 Meter: 8.8.8.8 Topics: Freedom-Liberation Lyrics: 1 A blood red rose reminds us still of one who faced a waiting grave with faith and hope on that green hill, whose love still comes to heal and save. 2 We pray to one who understands the heavy cross that we now bear, for one brief day in Roman hands a thorny crown he had to wear. 3 God grieves with us in every loss, for joys cut short when help comes late, and Jesus, dying on the cross, spoke words of pardon, not of hate. 4 A blood red rose was gently laid in Joseph's new and waiting tomb. This gracious gift in love was made, for love is in eternal bloom. 5 So come and place your flowers here upon the altar in this room, and sweep away the hate and fear till love comes leaping from the tomb.
