624. I Know My Sin and Weakness

1 I know my sin and weakness,
My faults and follies too,
Yet this is my endeavor,
And this one thing I do:
I’ll leave the past that I deplore,
And seeking things that are before,
I will press on to win the prize
That waits for me beyond the skies!

Refrain:
This is my chief endeavor,
With purpose firm and true;
I will press on to win the prize,
That waits for me beyond the skies,
Lord, this one thing I do!

2 To Thee, my precious Saviour,
My promise I renew,
And with my best endeavor,
Lord, this one thing I do:
Since Thou hast died my debt to pay,
Since Thou hast washed my sins away,
I trust Thy blood and righteousness,
And t’ward the prize I onward press. [Refrain]

3 Assist me, O my Saviour,
My heart and mind renew,
And help my weak endeavor,
While this one thing I do:
Since Thou hast shed Thy blood for me,
I consecrate my life to Thee;
And trust Thy mercy and Thy grace
To help me on to win the race. [Refrain]
