Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin

Author: Edward Henry Bickersteth, 1825-1906 Meter: 10.10 Appears in 390 hymnals Topics: Hope and Consolation Lyrics: 1 Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin? The blood of Jesus whispers peace within. 2 Peace, perfect peace, by thronging duties pressed? To do the will of Jesus, this is rest. 3 Peace, perfect peace, with sorrows surging round? In Jesus' presence naught but calm is found. 4 Peace, perfect peace, with loved ones far away? In Jesus' keeping we are safe, and they. 5 Peace, perfect peace, our future all unknown? Jesus we know, and he is on the throne. 6 Peace, perfect peace, death shad'wing us and ours? Jesus has vanquished death and all its pow'rs. 7 It is enough: earth's struggles soon shall cease, and Jesus call to heav'n's perfect peace. Used With Tune: PAX TECUM

My Shepherd Will Supply My Need

Author: Isaac Watts, 1674-1748 Meter: 8.6.8.6 D Appears in 234 hymnals Topics: Consolation Lyrics: 1 My shepherd will supply my need, The God of love supreme. In pastures green I come to feed, Beside the living stream. My wand'ring spirit is brought back Whene'er I go astray; For mercy's sake my heart is led In paths of truth and grace. 2 When I walk through the shades of death, Your presence is my stay; One word of your supporting breath Drives all my fears away. Your hand, in sight of all my foes, Does still my table spread; My cup with blessings overflows, Your oil anoints my head. 3 The sure provisions of my God Attend me all my days; O may your house be my abode, And all my work be praise! There would I find a settled rest, While others go and come, No more a stranger nor a guest, But like a child at home. Scripture: Psalm 23 Used With Tune: RESIGNATION
