யாவுமே அமைதியாய்,
கன்னி மைந்தனும் அன்னையுமாய்,
தூய பாலன் பொன் மேனி யுடன்,
தூங்கு சாந்தமாய் நீயும்,
தூங்கிடு சாந்தமாய் நீ.

2 ஓசையில்லா, தூய இரா,
மேய்ப்பரும் நடுங்கிட,
விண்ணில் பேரொளி வீசிடவே,
தேவ தூதரும் பாடிடவே,
கிறிஸ்து தோன்றினாரே,
கிறிஸ்தேசு தோன்றினாரே.

3 ஓசையில்லா, தூய இரா,
தந்தையின் மைந்தனாம்,
ஒளிர்விடும் உந்தன் திவ்ய முகம்,
மீட்பின் வாஞ்சையின் சாந்தமன்றோ?
உந்தன் முன்னணை வந்தோம்,
உந்தன் முன்னணை வந்தோம்.

4 ஓசையில்லா, தூய இரா,
விந்தையாய் நட்சத்திரம்,
ஒளிர்ந்து வீசி நல் பாதை காட்ட,
சேர்ந்து தூதருடன் பாடுவோம்,
பிறந்தார் மீட்பரின்று,
பிறந்தார் கிறிஸ்து இன்று.

Joseph Mohr was born into a humble family–his mother was a seamstress and his father, an army musketeer. A choirboy in Salzburg Cathedral as a youth, Mohr studied at Salzburg University and was ordained in the Roman Catholic Church in 1815.
